Since the beginning of the year our intrepid devising cast have been beavering away on their new future noir play – Snatch & Merkin. At some point the future… actually happened. But undeterred they have refocused their creativity, and re-written for video! Appropriate… do film noir, better film it…
Over the next several weeks they are going to be releasing 8 video episodes for your delight at home, culminating in a live online performance on 14 June. First episode airs this Monday!
With much sadness I have to announce that we will not be performing our shows, Pomona, Rules for Living, and Snatch & Merkin, in the Spring Season. With the current health situation it is not safe for the cast to rehearse, or audiences to attend. Massive thanks to the teams of all three productions, it is hugely frustrating for everyone that we got so close to performance before world events took over. But now we must be responsible and help protect the population.
Anyone who has bought tickets already should have their refund processed in the next few weeks.
KDC still fully intends to put on these shows. We cannot do them right now but we are already planning for future dates. Stay tuned for further announcements!
We’re needing help on the box office and ushering for KDC’s production of “Rules for Living”. If you can help us you can see the show for free!
The show is being performed nightly from 7–11 April at South London Theatre (The Old Fire Station, 2A Norwood High St, Norwood, London SE27 9NS), which is very close to West Norwood station (with services to London Victoria and London Bridge). There are also several bus routes to the venue from Brixton Tube, which take about 15-17 minutes.
We are looking for three volunteers for each of the five nightly performances (there is no Saturday matinee): two ushers and one box office assistant. The ushers will each be able to watch the entirety of the performance for free on the nights they are working. The box office assistant will be accompanied by the box office manager, a permanent SLT employee, and will remain in the foyer for the duration of the performance, but will be given two vouchers to see the show for free on a different night with a friend.
Performances begin at 19:30, so volunteers would have to be present at the venue by no later than 18:30 to receive a briefing and get settled.
Our fabulous and fantasmagorical spring season shows are now on sale! From the dark and sinister inner-city machinations of Pomona, to the farcical emotional angst of Rules for Living. With a light sprinkling of our futuristic noir new writing project Snatch & Merkin. We have whatever you want in a play! (as long as it is within the limited set outlined above…)
It’s time again for Full Stack, our yearly invite to writers experienced and new to get our their keyboards and start a-tapping! We’re looking for very short scripts for an anthology show in the summer, so please get your thinking caps on, we want to see your fantastic ideas. The theme for this year’s show will be
Writing on the Wall
