New web series, launches Monday!

Since the beginning of the year our intrepid devising cast have been beavering away on their new future noir play – Snatch & Merkin. At some point the future… actually happened. But undeterred they have refocused their creativity, and re-written for video! Appropriate… do film noir, better film it…

Over the next several weeks they are going to be releasing 8 video episodes for your delight at home, culminating in a live online performance on 14 June. First episode airs this Monday!

Aren’t we good to you?

All the episodes will be on our S&M page here

Coronavirus and Spring 2020

With much sadness I have to announce that we will not be performing our shows, Pomona, Rules for Living, and Snatch & Merkin, in the Spring Season. With the current health situation it is not safe for the cast to rehearse, or audiences to attend. Massive thanks to the teams of all three productions, it is hugely frustrating for everyone that we got so close to performance before world events took over. But now we must be responsible and help protect the population.

Anyone who has bought tickets already should have their refund processed in the next few weeks.

KDC still fully intends to put on these shows. We cannot do them right now but we are already planning for future dates. Stay tuned for further announcements!

Stay safe, be kind.

Tickets now on sale

Our fabulous and fantasmagorical spring season shows are now on sale! From the dark and sinister inner-city machinations of Pomona, to the farcical emotional angst of Rules for Living. With a light sprinkling of our futuristic noir new writing project Snatch & Merkin. We have whatever you want in a play! (as long as it is within the limited set outlined above…)

Pomona by Alistair McDowell

Directed by Tom Cunningham

Ollie has come to Manchester to look for her missing twin sister. There, she finds out about the mysterious place Pomona – a seemingly abandoned space in the centre of the city. What dark secrets is Pomona hiding? This dark play blends elements of horror, sci-fi and tabletop RPGs into a brilliantly written story that explores the claustrophobia and extremes of modern city life.

Rules for Living by Sam Holcroft

Directed by Duncan Moore

It starts out simple and descends into madness…. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without sprouts, presents, a game or two and a good old family argument. And this is what you get in Sam Holcroft’s brilliantly funny comedy, Rules for Living.

Sibling rivalries, suppressed resentments, jealousy and secrets are just some of the things that must remain hidden as a family gets together for Christmas.

And also, our devised project:

Snatch & Merkin

Directed by Anna Markland & Dean Reilly

Funny. Futuristic. Feminist. Film Noir.
These are the building blocks that the cast & creatives will use to write a new piece via a playful process combining improvisation and devising techniques. We will focus on exploring the core themes of the work (technologically advanced sex toys, 21st century villains, GenZ feminism), and combining their elements into a dark comedy.

Find out more at the season launch party, 5th January, 4pm, Hoop & Grapes pub in Farringdon.
