We will be gathering at the Hoop and Grapes pub in Farringdon this Thursday 23 February, from 7pm.

We also welcome any KDC-ers who would like to catch up over a drink or two or more as well! We look forward to seeing you there.

For the season we are specifically looking to run two short plays back-to-back, one by an ‘established’ writer and the other by one of our own members.

So if you know of a short play (anything from 20 to 55 minutes) that you love, be it by Chekhov, Stoppard, Kane or Moliere, then pitch for it… You can pitch for up to four plays.

In addition, if you want the details of the plays in the KDC New Writing bank, let us know and we can send you the scripts to give the once over.

We intend to see people at the start of March regarding one of these four directing slots, so if you’re interested in pitching a play, or putting yourself forward to direct some new writing (or both), please email artistic@kdctheatre.com or chair@kdctheatre.com.

We are also interested in hearing about any other plays you may be interested in pitching for our Winter Season (dates tbc).

This session is for people who are looking for a chance to practise their storytelling, collaborate on a creating ideas within a group and are interested in devising plays in general.

This is the second set of Devising workshops we’ve run and will use some of the methods explored in the first workshops (Collaborative Storytelling and Character Construction Workshop) and continue on. You do not need to have attended the first set of workshops to attend this one as we’ll be introducing these concepts afresh.

Each session will run from 12.15pm to 6.30pm in a central London rehearsal space. Participants can attend only one session (either the 3rd or the 10th).

It was an incredibly hard job thanks to some great auditions and some really tough calls, but if you DIDN’T get cast this time round, worry not! We have plenty on the way with regards to reading and workshops and social events! We are about to open up the pitch process for the rest of the year, so if you are not only an actor but also an aspiring director, get thinking! More details coming soon!
